Just checked, I'm using only the distort knob. Is Defacer officially okay if used as distortion only?bh9090 wrote:Just using as distortion..I don't think it does glitch effects. The deface knob sounds like bit reduction to me, but I don't think I'm using that part - not in front of DAW atm. If it's off limits I can certainly swap it out with my old standard CamelCrusher.z.prime wrote:Is it this one - seems to be a glitch effect, which wouldn't be allowed. I think ok as long as not doing the 'defacer' function, which rearranges samples like a glitch effect...bh9090 wrote:Just checked, I'm using only the distort knob. Is Defacer officially okay if used as distortion only?

Can we use effects in free shop based plugins? i.e. Amplitube Custom Shop is free and you get several effects at no cost. Also Pod Farm Free gives you some free things. TIA.

As long as it is entirely free to get the effect (e.g. free download of the container app/plugin, and free download of the effect) it should be ok.Lempface wrote:Can we use effects in free shop based plugins? i.e. Amplitube Custom Shop is free and you get several effects at no cost. Fantastic track opoint. Loved the Pink Floyd-ish feel.opoint wrote:K here's my bladerunner attempt:) I'm enjoying these two plugs so much already, feels like I have already won a prize.

Thanks much Lempface. It feels like there is some Bladerunner/Vangelis planetary alignment or something. I just listened to some of his new album today, then found out they are making a Bladerunner sequel, with Harrison Ford no-less. Though, a different composer, Jóhann Jóhannsson, but I really like his music also. Here are some patches for you all. I'll send a private mess to bmrzycki also.

Wow!
Have to say, I'm impressed by Tyrell N6.. I downloaded this a while back when I didn't have any commercial synths and was looking for a couple of goo freebies.. However I didn't get the hang of making sounds in it back then. Now I'm much more comfortable, after working a lot in modular.. The matrix section is KILLER for a free synth!!!
However.. Here's my entry:
https://soundcloud.com/subject36/subjec ... ini-dreams
It's made in Logic Pro X, using 24 instances of Tyrell N6.
Internal Logic Pro effects:
1 Arp midi
13 Channel EQ
12 Compressor
10 Gain
2 Limiter
1 Distorsion 2
1 Tape Delay
1 Space Designer
External plugins:
3 Bluarp
1 Protoverb
4 Ignite Amps PTEq-X
1 Bitter Sweet
3 Saturation knob
1 TDR VOS SLick EQ (Master channel)
1 TDR Kotelnikov Compressor (Master channel)
(The guitar is not distorted by any plugin - that's done in the feedback+ring modulation..)
Hope to see many interesting entries this time. And best of luck to you all!

Analogue and digital alike - inside and outside the box. All good music is done with passion and love, not religious convictions!

Here's my contribution. This I guess is somewhere in the space between the Field and f**k Buttons.
https://soundcloud.com/icoson/tylenol-ocean-n6
Ableton live, all DAW effects besides tyrell itself:
tyrell n6 x14
eq8 x8
ping pong delay + autofilter x2
utility x5
simple delay x2
compressor x3
limiter x2
glue compressor x2
multiband dynamics
reverb (return)
ping pong delay (return)
I found several of the noisefactory presets helpful for getting started on percussion with this synth, in particular the kicks and sandpapier NF. I would really have liked to use some distortion but I didn't do that for this version of the song at least, it was interesting to try to work around the lack of in-synth fx relative to most synths I use. I found tyrell to be the hardest to get what I wanted of any u-he synth I've used, but I grew to like it quite a bit in the end.

But why did you leave out the huge opening sub bass Booooom ?
Recall of the unforgettable opening scene of the movie (to listen at high volume):
