Every time I have the pleasure to assist external PT sessions I ask myself
"why the heck there is no - inspired by - vst version ?"

A very cpu friendly and versatile stroke of genius
less in the sense of a "true amp sim",
more in the sense of a comprehensive "there for bass+gtrs but serve any instrument" tone shaper.

To cherish the hope that some devs stop by with a "why not?",
I throw the idea of a dev challenge into the round.
(Includes other possible formats of course).

I wonder who scratched the neck on the same question
or would like to see something like this
and which dev is your prefered one on this task ?

Mine: Tony (Klanghelm)
gearhead, perfectionist, philanthropist and rumored a forbearing philatelist.

Have you tried the existing ones? Like this: http://www.tseaudio.com/software/tseBOD

YES EXCITED AND THRILLED!! The other day I suggested it to Kazrog as I know he would absolutely nail it!

TSE BOD is buggy and has some weird volume drops.

I did, very nice freebie indeed,
but if you look at the parameters of PSA-1 alone without knowing it,
you may imagine what this gem is able to offer.
(Plus cpu usage close to none).
It is really different from vst`s I know by now.

Ah Kazrog, very nice option as well.

I'm so excited
And I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it

Hahaha, that`s Aloysius ...
I assume the proposed devs are the Pointer Sisters.

This is spooky
but it looks like sometimes requests and solutions are going parallel
and there is a powerful, enhanced and free candidate:

SoftAmp PSA by AXP

Have to play around more with it, works a bit different but looks pretty good.

Well that escalated quickly!

I like AXP and I'm sure this will sound great...

Just tried the AXP version of the PSA-1 out today. As a former owner of both the original hardware PSA-1 and the successor PSA-1.1, I am very impressed. For the first time since I made the switch from hardware to software guitar gear, I am now able to replicate the guitar sound I used to have. The AXP developer Alexander Petrov-Savchenko has done an amazing job in my opinion.

tested PSA by AXP today and it sounds just great! first place from me for KVR DSP Challenge '16.

FINALLY! I still have my old PSA-1 hardware (had the classic pedal before that), and liked the PT plug. Can't wait to play with this!

Let us know how how the Softamp compares. I'm sure I'll love it once I get around to trying it out. --on a soundfont search at the moment--
