[See update at end of post...]
So, after looking into Tattoo and finally deciding i wanted to get it, I visited their site last night only to discover it's all new, with a focus on harware modules, and some things have disappeared. Like Tattoo.
I know that the synth side of Tattoo was a little limited, but it's randomisation features looked amazing, the best I've seen, with controls for the probability of played notes not playing, and unplayed notes playing, with random pattern generation that would change on each pattern repeat, and these randomisation features were also available for the synth parameters.
This was perfect for me, as i want to do live guitar over rhthym tracks that are not mere loops, but with some life and dynamics, and also the fexibility to switch patterns depending on the mood of my imrovising, which rules out creating long, varied rhythm tracks with sufficient interest. They'd be locked in.
I've noticed AD don't seem too good at answering any questions... I emailed them months ago with no answer. I posted a question about Tattoo on their Facebook page, but I notice that nearly all of the posts by visitors with queries etc remain unanswered, including technical issues.
So, what else is out there with randomisation as good as this? It has to be a Mac AU to work in Logic/Mainstage. I plan to use Mainstage as I can seamlessly incorporate its looper for some guitar stuff. Also, if someone is selling Tattoo i might be interested, but perhaps there will be issues with licence transfers now.
Thanks in advance...
UPDATE!
OK so I just visited their FB page. While my query was unanswered, someone else with the same query got this response...
" It was inadvertently omitted during the recent migration to a new site. It will be back shortly."
Happier now

What's going on with AD? I see as well as Tattoo, Bitcom & Filterstation are missing too ... maybe they didn't finish updating their site yet?

Hmm, I didn't know microtonic had a sequencer with randomisation, thanks, worth investigating...
I also wondered whether they'd finished updating. The new site looks pretty slick though so I kinda imagined they'd have waited till it was finished before launching. But maybe not.

tattoo's little sequencer is a unique one indeed... being able to drive it from midi input so you can apply any swing is neat
I've seen many licenses for it this year in the Sell & Buy here, there might well still be one up for grabs there
though, then again, if their website is gone, then so is their automated license transfer, and given their customer service... that might be dead as well :/

Their website isn't gone, it's just some of their products. The site focusses on their hardware moduler umm, modules I guess...
It seems the sequencer in Tattoo was pretty unparalleled, I can't find anything like it.
but if they had an automated licence transfer maybe I'm in luck with a seller here. Plenty of their software stuff is still available on the new site.

that's good to hear, i'm actually quite interested in it now due to this thread (even if just for the sequencing capabilities).someone called simon wrote:" It was inadvertently omitted during the recent migration to a new site. It will be back shortly."

GuDa Drumr2 would fit the bill. Though when I tried it out it was a bit buggy regarding note mappings, and it's difficult to get it to stop when you want it to - you have to have an 'end' pattern ready.someone called simon wrote:So, what else is out there with randomisation as good as this? Having said that, it does sound bloody good, and it can load samples too. Definitely one to watch IMO.

Thanks, I'd seen that announced a while ago. Weird that I can find no mention of a sequencer at all on the webpage. They are a but reticent on providing info! I'll download it for a play.Andywanders wrote:GuDa Drumr2 would fit the bill.
