What does the underscore on _get_engine_par or anywhere else, it's gives priority o something?
and btw, an explanation about PGS would be appreciated.

Prolly just their naming thing for functions that return a value. Only ever see it when you're using it to set a value right?

Old naming convention that got obsolete. You don't have to use it at all, or rather - you shouldn't use it at all any more (makes the code look a little bit nicer).

so there will be no problem removing the underscore on _pgs_get_key_val -> pgs_get_key_val, right?
