You're right, sorry about that.
It's a free to use chat app for windows/mac/ios/android (slack.com), with various different channels to join and discuss, ask questions etc. For example, having different channel for each DAW for asking questions, and maybe have channels like sound design, plugins, mixing/mastering, feedback channel etc. I think sometimes it's easier to discuss things in real time and getting answers quicker. It's also great for KVR stuff related announcements as all members would get a notification. There's also direct messaging available.
There is already one slack group for music production musicprod.slack.com, but it's not very active.
Don't get me wrong, I'm an oldschool guy and I love forums and they certainly have it's own charm and always will, it's just from my experience of using slack - it really is a great way of communicating. Anyway, just a thought.
