What are the best plugins for cross-feed in your opinion? And of those, which are free?

Goodhertz CanOpener is the best in my opinion
Alternatively you can try the Redline Monitor which is good too
And for the free one, Deespeaker is not bad

Could you try it and compare it to the ones you told me about?

The Space360 seems to be really good too, though it takes some time to set it up as a speaker simulator.

The JB Isone is more on the Binaural side: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... ro&id=2069

You can turn off the HRTF and room modeling stuff on Isone to get a simple crossfeed plug. A couple dB boost at 5k will get you a Redline emulation.

Case's plugin for FB2K is the most natural I have heard, a very pure and simple implementation of the Meier Crossfeed. He also released it for free as a VST plugin you can grab on the second page of this thread over at Hydrogen Audio:

Set it anywhere from 5-25 for the most natural effect.

After comparing it to the plugins I've mentioned before, I agree with Hermetech Mastering. The Case's Meier Crossfeed is one of the most natural crossfeed plugin that you can get for free. AFAIK it only has a 32bit version right now. You have to be careful of clipping/overs if you want to use this plugin. In my case, I have to add a gain plugin before the Case Meier Crossfeed and set it to -3 to get rid of the clipping/overs.

Yep, in FB2K I have a headphone chain that consists of -6dB gain, an EQ for my HD600 cans, Case's Meier Crossfeed (set to 10), and then a dither. Sounds amazing!

I also use X-Audio MyBino, but the version 1.0.2 as the new 1.5.1 version doesn't work in Reaper. If anyone wants to try the old version just tell me and I'll upload it.
