I put a new song in my music website called "Set Your Sights For the Celestial". It has various synths and guitar parts. Please tell me how you like this song, and how it can be improved (and I will return the favor if you wish; leave me a link). It is the song at the top of this link:

As a punk-influenced hard rock song with a little edge of prog in there it works pretty well.
Main theme is catchy with a driving groove. That descending bassline is not hugely original, but it works.
Change into the organ section was a little clunky and sudden for me.
Contrasting material after the organ bit worked well with clear links to the main riff - vocal processing maybe a little overdone here?
Keyboard solo at the end...good idea and great sound, but the solo itself didn't quite hit the mark for me...lost its way a little at times.
Good song overall...I enjoyed it!

Allow me to list some suggestions
1.) I think there's sometimes small timing differences between the vocal and the vocal double? This sounds like a delay which makes the voice harder to understand.
2.) Next one is hard to describe - I have the feeling that the different parts are not glued together well. I think the vocals are "not part" of the song somehow in terms of mixing...don't know how to put it best. Probably rework the reverbs and that stuff.
But anyway, that is just things that can be corrected, but the song is quite good.

It started off with a typical 60s garage rock riff but then went in all kinds of unpredictable directions. The mix lacks polish but I enjoyed the wild ride this took me on. There are enough ideas here for 2 or 3 songs. Great stuff.

This one has some kind of 70s art rock influence, as far as my musical knowledge can provide any useful suggestions. Not bad for live instruments, at least it sounds like played live. Once a piece a bit different on this page. Nice freaked out synths also.

htcnext2,
Thank you for listening and reviewing! I appreciate it. I'm actually playing real life electric guitar and electric bass. I will now seek out your music.

At first the progression reminded me of Cream’s Ullysses but it diverged away from that and became interesting. Yeah, the vocals need some first-aid. I’m not sure what you want to try and do with this song but I was thinking a snarling female vocal might be worth trying as that’s what came into my head. I’m not sure about the synth lead at the end.
Lots of good ideas here and real potential.

fastlanephil,
Thank you for listening & replying. I can think of 7 different females that I have recorded vocally, though none of them "snarled". In my experience, female vocalists that have grit in their voice are pretty rare. Now that I am married, it is way less likely I'm going to work with a female on music. I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't be very keen on that idea, especially since most good female singers look good. I will now seek out your music.
