Now, for the first time in my life, I look like a bit of a soothsayer.

RIP Cakewalk.

Some of the comments in these various Sonar threads are kinda like...
"Joe: General Motors closed their doors yesterday!! What car should I buy? Can you tell me about all the cars you've owned so I can make a decision?"

"Jim: Ermn... did your car suddenly stop running? Maybe if you were a regular GM customer just cross that bridge when or if you ever get to it?"
Honestly ... it seems like a few (very few in context, granted) care more about the shiny, (getting regular new shiny stuff because other people with other products will) than just making music. :hihi:

While somewhere some guy is working on his 7th album with Cubase 5 or something and hasn't upgraded in years. :hihi:

Surely though the situation is indeed like that for subscribers?

IDK, I've been looking to see if they put the new $499 US version on sale for say, $100?

Maybe. I don't how their subscription model or whatever it was worked.

I hope this was a very recent and sudden decision on their part, that they didn't decide to do this many months ago and kept selling 'subscriptions' anyway right up until announcement day. That would be somewhat unethical.
