I use zynaddsubfx pretty extensively in ableton live, and it seems like there's been a major update on automation from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2, with new macro automations that are exposed to the vst host. I imagine this will let me (finally) automate zyn from ableton, but I can't figure out how to use this.

From what I understand, the macro tab should look like this http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/doc/ ... o_view.png (http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/doc/automations/macro_view.png), but for me it looks like this https://imgur.com/a/4k3n7 (https://imgur.com/a/4k3n7). When I click learn (which I think is supposed to send things to the automation page), it just flicks on and off once, and then when I click on the thing I want to automate it doesn't get sent there. Is this a bug, or do am I just doing things wrong. If it is my fault, can someone give me a step by step guide to getting it working? Thank you! :D

(P.S. I've been trying 3.0.2 and 3.0.2 patch 4 downloaded from http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/demo.html (http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/demo.html), on win 10 with ableton live 9. I've tried following http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/doc/ ... ation.html (http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/doc/automations/parameter-automation-documentation.html), but I'm not sure what it means by Normal Learn and Macro Learn, I can't figure out how to get there.)

Looks like something went wrong with your installation, so I'd give it another shot. Definitely should look like the first image, but on your machine is the old MIDI learn page before the update. After reinstalling, maybe contact Mark if it's still not working.

As far as the difference between Normal/Macro Learn:

Normal Learn:
When in "Learn" mode, each control tweaked will be mapped to the first unused Macro Slot, one control to each macro. Use this to quickly expose a parameter to the host for automation.
Macro Learn: Each control tweaked will be mapped to the same Macro Slot, up to 4 controls. First click the arrow next to the Macro Slot you want to map, then go into "Learn" Mode and tweak your controls. This way you can use one Macro to move up to 4 different parameters.

That's an older version of the GUI. I would check for multiple installations.
The linux installer removes old binaries, but the windows one is up to you to
remove old installs and point your host at the new binary

Best Christmas present ever!!! :D

I'm so happy, that was exactly the problem. I had a couple of versions of the vst in my vst folder, and somehow they ended up interfering with each other. Deleting all but one fixed everything. I can't wait to do so many things now! Definitely going to by the full version when I'm less busy too :)
