Im trying to convert an audio signal to cc. im using audiotoCC vst, which does exactly what i want, but when i use more then 3 it really starts to clog up the CPU, in ableton at top corner you see the cpu usage jump past 100, not sure if its this plugin or my settings.

any suggestions?

ive also tried using the older pizmidi in energyxt, with same results, after opening 3 of them, the program starts to studder the sound and proccess. also i have a very powerful i7 desktop and in the task manager the cpu never goes over 7%

Would an envelope follower apply to your situation? There are 3 that come with max, and also some to be found at m4l:

im not sure if these will work. Im sending midi to another computer via USB midi adapter. ive gotten it to work, but still with the same problem, after a few of these vsts open up it distorts the DAW processing.

gona try this now

Ok i got it working, but its not nearly as good as the Pizmidi plugin. it works kind of crummy, but on the upside its not messing with DAW CPU :(

tried this old one (32bit)? I don't know how good it is.

Are you on Windows? If so you can try this: get Reaplugs
https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/
and the included ReaControlMIDI vst.
Now you can use any max envelope follower and map it to a CC slider in ReaControlMIDI. It will output CC. Check the Raw Mode box for normal CC values.
