Klevgrand makes a decent inexpensive Haas plugin which splits the signal into bands, so you keep the bass in the center and wide the higher bits. Works well enough for me.

+1 Haas panning is fantastic - especially when listening with headphones (majority of your audience?). Just use it only on non-essential elements that you don't mind sacrificing in mono like extra percussion, impacts, pads, phased out crash cymbals etc.
