Is There A Dedicated Sound FX VST?

Every once in a while I find myself wanting a certain sound FX like maybe a bird chirping or a chain saw or whatever. I find myself having to search through royalty free sites looking for what I need and sometimes it takes forever.

Is there a dedicated sound FX VST that has virtually any sound FX that you could possibly want. Granted this would have to be sample based and the library would have to be huge and I'm sure, given how much time something like this would take to put together, quite expensive. But does something like this even exist? I have yet to find anything remotely close.

Anybody?

Holy crap. Yes, that.

What does this thing go for?

** EDIT ** Never mind. Looked it up. $129. Not bad at all. Definitely something to consider for a future purchase.

Elek, I have Rise and Hit. Doesn't really cover a lot of ground. Not like UVI. That's for sure.

Not really. There are some sound effects libraries out there for various samplers/romplers, and I'm pretty sure there have been a couple of plugins which were effectively just front-ends for purchasing samples of sample libraries, but nothing that's a properly comprehensive library in a plugin.

IMO freesound.org is always a good starting point for 'on-the-fly' sound requirements since its free, unless you want to go down the route of a soundsnap subscription or somesuch.

Thanks. I went through the UVI preset list. It's pretty extensive. Granted, it doesn't have everything but it's a start. And I will check out freesound.org. Was not aware of that site. Thanks.

Probably not relevant to wags' stated useage, but if anyone is ever looking for deeper sound effects libraries (ie not just individual sounds, but tons of variations) A Sound Effect (https://www.asoundeffect.com/) is 'the' front end for dozens and dozens of indie sample library producers.
And the blog is well worth following.

Okay, so basically what's the difference between free and $15 a month? I usually find with sites such as these the free account gives you pretty much nothing useful and you need to get the pro account to actually make use of it.

Digital Sound Factory (DSF) created various sound libraries, including DSF Vol 10 Hollywood SFX.

I have that in Dimension Pro format, and it covers a lot. Ambient, Animals, Misc, Sci-Fi, Transportation, Water.

The site is in maintenance mode at this time, so I'm not sure what's up with that.
