As this is not a plugin, it shouldn't matter which bit version of Bitwig you use. Anyway, Hexachords do not seem to have made a project file for Bitwig (yet), so you will have to set up the tracks yourself. You also need set up the midi to work with Orb Composer, since Hexachords hasn't made a guide for this.CanoP wrote:I still wonder if it's possible to use it with Bitwig Studio 2.3 64bit. And how.

Not necessarily, Cognitone Synfire (similar software) is €779, even though it's a bit more advanded.TheKid wrote:This is way, way too expensive.

Sorry I cant help with Bitwig but I use it in Waveform 9 which has no template too and that was not a big problem.I still wonder if it's possible to use it with Bitwig Studio 2.3 64bit. And how.
You just have to enable the midi driver that is installed with Orb Composer in your midi inputs and then in Waveform you just make some virtual midi inputs based on these inputs. Then you activate these as midi in on your tracks. I am far from being experienced in these kind of things but it was really not difficult (at least in waveform).
I was too lazy too make a complete template cause I only use it for some electronic/pop/rock kind of stuff, so I only made the virtual inputs I really use and then use these first track as template for the new ones and just adjust.

I really wanted to like Synfire. I've tried the demo multiple times over the years, but without fail, it would crash on me within the first fifteen minutes.starflakeprj wrote:Not necessarily, Cognitone Synfire (similar software) is €779, even though it's a bit more advanded.TheKid wrote:This is way, way too expensive.

There is also WaveDNA Liquid Music, which takes a similar approach.
I think Orb Composer is a bit different, in that it begins at a higher, more abstract level before focusing on chord progressions and harmony. I don't recall any other generative music tool that considered elements such as theme, intensity, movement, and sentence structure. The designers were thinking in the broadest terms about the macro structures of composition, which I find intriguing.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Hello guys,
For now, we don't have a project file for Bitwig ...
If Bitwig allows the selection of a specific Midi Input AND channel per track, then it will work just fine.
If someone wants to do the full project file, we will be happy to give a free nfr of the PRO version to him/her for free (we provide the excel file with all the mapping information)
This applies to :
- Bitwig
- Reason
- Digital performer
- Mixcraft
First-come, first-served (please send us a private message).
By the way, here is a new video available on INDIE POP music with OC :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt9QkadAjf0
We have 2 new videos (about electronic music) in the pipe which will be released soon !
Cheers

I've done another playthrough video using Orb Composer, this time it's a piece of vocal music with piano accompaniment and strings.
It's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBDkWEb ... Ad&index=2

FYI I discovered that you can draw the intensity or momentum curves by holding down the control key, and you can zoom in and out by holding down the command key (on a Mac). Quite useful for large projects with a lot of blocks. This information isn't in the manual.

So I tried to install 1.2 demo... now it won't install, uninstall or launch at all under Windows 10. What a mess...
This might be "electronic" with some generous tolerance, but not "electro" for certain. Sounds like synthwave to me.

I've been playing with Orb Composer using Logic.
The Piano template works fine.
But the other templates, don't create an instrument slot, they create an audio buss.
As far as I know, there is no way to create an instrument on a buss.
Reading someone's other post, I can't get Logic to sync to Orb Composer, It will get the midi notes, But the other templates don't generate sound (except on the chord track in Logic), because they are not instruments.
A moderate amount of random crashes. This program looks very promising for some of my purposes.
Any Logic Pro X users here using Orb Composer? Can you post your observations, what's working and not working?
Seeing as this is completely different from a DAW, I'm in the dark, as to what's working/not working OR what is my NOT KNOWING how to use it. I'm reading manuals, looking at videos etc,
Any comments from Logic Users would be helpful. I don't want to keep bugging Orb-Composer, because I assume like other companies making esoteric software, they don't have a large work force. But I have to be sure, this will work for me.

Here's my latest Orb Composer screencast.
This time it's about creating a New Age tune using Orb Composer
I've recorded the full composition process in Orb Composer and a final play-through of the finished work.
Enjoy!

What are the demo limitations?

IIRC the demo allows you to chain no more than 2 blocks together and save and export are disabled.
I never demoed OC because when I bought it, there was no demo available.

Thanks, I tried to contact them but didn't find an email and I couldn't pass the robot test for their contact form. I might take a look at it.
