Epic 2.0
Do you like Prog Music but you don't have the time these days to listen to a long epic track because you are busy with all those Tweets? Then this track is for you, a prog epic in 2.0 minutes!
John Wegner: Guitar, Bass, Synths and Vocals
Paul Wegner: Drums and Percussion
Living in a modern castle
First world problems every day
Filling up every minute
Wasting my life away
My lord sends an urgent test
A mysterious jewel is my quest
I cannot think my thoughts stray
As something urgent tweets my way
trapped in cyberspace.
A final struggle with my host
Trolls surround my every post
The code is a cryptic hex
Pictures are triple x
I strive to climb the cliff
Of knowledge in 2.0

That's the shortest prog rock song I've ever heard. lol. Would love to hear an extended version of this.
Sounds like a cross between Genesis and Gentle Giant.
Good job!

Now that's my kind of prog. Short and snappy.
Great contrast between the melodic and intense sections. Nice job!

Thanks WagTunes! We made it short so I can get back to my tweets! Unfortunately there is no extended version...wagtunes wrote:That's the shortest prog rock song I've ever heard. lol. Would love to hear an extended version of this.

I see Gentle Giant were mentioned earlier. I was reminded of "I Bet You Thought We Couldn't Do It", which was a 2:24 nod to the punk movement from 1977. This is even shorter, but it manages to convey your message very well, and Paul sounds like he's having fun.

Thanks Frantz. Normally we do the long form prog, but these days people have so much to listen to it's not surprising short is more appealing. Then we can go back to our social media obligations!Frantz wrote:Now that's my kind of prog. Short and snappy.
