TAL Sampler How to play slices?

Hi There,

I'm trying to play slices on a keyboard and I've:

• Loaded a sample into layer A
• Gone to the sample editor and created a bunch of slices
• The slices play by clicking keys in the key mapping area (but not with the keyboard)
• But when I go back to the main window, the slices won't play at all
• If I click 'Add mapping' from the sample edit screen, it removes the sample

Obviously knowledge of samplers is required (or I'm missing a basic trick) but does anyone know how to play slices?
Or know of better docs/tutorials than the manual - i.e. for beginners?

Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.
