Why does my sound come out crackly ?

When I convert any image to sound it comes out crackly, with or without external speakers plugged in. My computer does not otherwise produce crackly sound.

I assume that's the audio playback only and not the files? In that case have a look in menu Options > Audio Output Device..., setting a buffer length to something higher might help. On my machine it's fine with 448 samples but if not you can try 1024 or even 2048. You can also try changing the audio driver.

Actually the saved files also comes out crackly when I play the saved file on another device. Not sure why.
