Hi,
I've installed TXAYWx (free) for using SF2 plugins.
That works but I don't unserstand how to access to reverb, sustain and other settings for a Sf2 file. the instrument works but I'd like to fine set it.
I've not found how to do in the manual.
Also, how to save a program when I've loades 2 or 3 instruments ?
Do I have to purchase a paid version for that ?
Many thanks if you could help...
Pierre

Sound shape settings such as envelopes, filters etc are accessed via one or more sound shape objects attached to groups. You view and edit them via the sound shape tab, opened by the button "sound" in the slot editor. For SF2 imported sounds these will be auto generated, otherwise you create one or more and assign to groups.

Effects, such as reverb is not imported from SF2:s (because the sound/program model differs). Internal effects are part of TX Pro. You can enable pro mode in settings to evaluate it. You can route to effects from either program slot or sound shape objects.

What you call "instruments" are in fact programs. Each is loaded into a program slot. When you have more than one mapped in either more than one slot (for example to play across multiple midi channels) or just available (for switching to using MIDI program change maybe), you have can save the whole setup as either a performance (all slots + assigned programs + FX setup & routing), or a bank (the full sampler content, all loaded programs and samples etc).
When you save the state of the samples with your DAW project, the full bank is stored in the host project.

Great !
You helped me to understand many things about TX16wx and I thank you.
Just an additional question : In Souns, I've found Attack, Decay, and other settings, but nowhere was Reverb. Where can I use this setting ?

Post

There is no "reverb" setting. If using TX Pro, you can set up reverb as a send effect and route to it, but if you are thinking of things like the SF2 per-preset chorus+reverb, there is no such thing in TX. (Technically, you can, in TX Pro, have per-soundobject insert chorus, but this is not translated from soundfonts, because it is not the same thing).
Remember, TX16Wx is a sampler, not a SF2 player. It imports it (fairly well, esp. in 3.6 beta), but all aspects do no translate.

Thanks again.
Ok for Reverb. But are others well translated and sent to the DAW (decay, sustin, attack) ?

Post

Yes. In most cases it should be fully translated, as intended. If you find a sound font that is not, send a bug report.
