Standalone bulk typhoon DWVW .C01 / .txw to wav converter help

hey there,

it would be extremely useful if you provided a bulk utility to convert typhoon compressed (.c01) and or .txw files to wav and vice versa. or if anyone knows of one that be appreciated!

BTW, about ten years ago Magnus of Sonic Charge created a free software emulation of the Yamaha TX16W sampler for MacOS called Cyclone. It runs Typhoon, his alternative operating system for the hardware TX16W. Because the Typhoon file format is different from Yamaha, folks converted hundreds of presets from Yamaha to Typhoon format, .fxp and .img.

Unbelievably, just last November Magnus updated Cyclone to make it compatible for MacOS 10.13 and later!!
( if you are wondering, the cwitec TX16Wx does not open Typhoon files, nor would I expect it to.)

Actually, I tried to approach Magnus (as a fellow Swede) to share the Typhoon bank/program file format so I could write proper importers for it. Never got an answer. Feel free to apply internet pressure. :-/

As for bulk converting the audio; You can always just drag all the wave files into TX, then save the .txbank with "copy content" on, and that should pretty much do it.

If Magnus agreed to share, could TX import and also export or save in Typhoon format to be used in Cyclone? I am thinking that might be an incentive.

No. TX does not export other product formats. As a rule. The file format is on the other hand open and documented, so anyone can make a converter if they like.
