But I would also say do a clean reinstall but after you have taken the time to work out how you want your new system laid out and whether you really need the 27th reverb that came free with something else. Buy a new external disc and leave one of your Time Machine backups un touched - so you can always fish out something you forgot about.
Re authorisations - some machine authorisations may need to be de authorised, others may not eg NI stuff. If in doubt, email the support and ask.
