i'm looking for a attack/transient sample pack to do some LA style synthesis (not looking for the original D50 samples). does somebody knows if this exists, or should i roll my own? thanks!

sorry extremely late response, missed your post.
nope i didn't find anything readymade. started to cut some freesound transients myself but it was quite time consuming with various results (they need to be bandlimited because of nyquist junk if you play them few octaves lower, some didn't work well over extreme ranges etc...) i was using them in dune3 but it was not very flexible. meanwhile got into programming hyperion/f'em and thinking again about the idea.
