The Windows installer was improved to prevent common installations issues. Please check the suggested installation paths during installation, making sure the update is installed into the same location as the previous version, and all installed plugin formats are being updated.
The factory preset library has been revamped for this update.
Some less useful presets have been removed, new ones have been added.
Presets are now sorted in a more meaningful way, thus you might have to reassign your favourites.
Windows and Linux users, please consider removing the factory library folder before running the update installer.
The delay line output range has been adjusted from 0 to 200 to 0 to 100.
If old projects were automating this parameter, the automation envelope needs to be adjusted.
We removed the ability to store information about the last used MIDI note and velocity in the preset file itself. The potential for confusion and accidentally saving this data with the preset simply outweighed the benefits.
To set a preset to a specific note in a project, either create a MIDI clip and set up your track so the effect plugin can receive MIDI from that clip. Or use the internalNote and internalVel host automation parameters in case your host cannot send MIDI to effects.
Original post from last week:
As promised, MFM 2.5 is our first release that includes official support for the new CLAP plugin format .
And while we've been busy finalizing the CLAP version of MFM 2.5, we also fixed and improved countless other little details since the last beta version, thanks to your feedback.
We had to revise the way the GUI keyboard works due to some issues in Pro Tools and Live.
Adding parameter modulation support to the CLAP plugin required some extensive and time-consuming refactoring.
And while implementing the undo/redo in CLAP, we also improved the undo/redo behaviour in general.
All these issues (and many more) contributed to the "slight delay" of the originally scheduled release date. :clown:
But now we are back on track and are hoping for a release next week, if no unexpected showstoppers come up during the next few days.
A little reminder that the price for MFM 2.5 will go up to 99,-€ from 79,-€ once it's officially released.
This is your last chance to grab MFM2 at a discount.
Of course, the update will be free for existing MFM2 customers.
Here's an overview of what's changed since the last beta, revision 13207:
* Extended host automation list with LFO parameters
* Browser: Description fields character limit doubled from 256 to 512
* CLAP: Parameter modulation support added for most parameters
* Fixed: Mod matrix mod depth parameter was not recognized properly in Bitwig's device panel
* Fixed: Mod matrix redo wasn't setting the correct modulation target
* Fixed: GUI keyboard was not working as expected in Pro Tools and Ableton Live
* Fixed: Level meters were always peaking in Pro Tools
* Fixed: Panic button sometimes wasn't clearing audio buffer completely
* Fixed: Undo/redo of Diffusor stages and user LFO wave mode wasn't working correctly
* Fixed: CLAP undo/redo was not in sync with GUI
* Fixed: CLAP undo/redo of double-click reset wasn't working
* Fixed: CLAP undo/redo of modulation depth wasn't working
* Fixed: CLAP undo/redo of dropdown menu changes wasn't working
* Fixed: CLAP crash when adjusting certain parameters via high resolution mouse wheel
* Fixed: CLAP opening plugin GUI was setting focus to previoulsy touched apps (Windows only)
* Fixed: Browser missing warning when dropping folders containing unsupported files
* Fixed: Browser empty description/usage fields showed the words description/usage in preset inspector
* Fixed: Browser deleting a folder via Windows Explorer did not update the preset list
* Fixed: Removed dependency on MobileDevice.framework (plugins were no longer working on El Capitan and Sierra after faulty Apple Device Support update)
* Fixed: "User Guide" option in u-he menu wasn't working in Logic/Mainstage/GarageBand on Silicon powered Macs
* Fixed: Pro Tools wasn't handing over Alt key to plugin on Windows
* Fixed: Crash when moving certain elements in GUI editor mode
* And the list goes on and on ...
And a reminder what had changed between the first beta, revision 12536, and the second beta, revision 13207:
* The clipper now has an additional -6dB threshold option
* The preset library has been polished and finalized
* The preset context menu now has a copy & paste option
* The last played MIDI note is now ignored when the preset changes
* Some parameter names have been adjusted (e.g. Lfo > LFO)
* GUI now remembers its last state when it's being reopened
* Removed zipper noises that occurred when adjusting some parameters
* Removed the option to save a MIDI note in the preset file
* Fixed yet another LFO reset hiccup
* Fixed a couple of issues in the preset browser of the Linux version
* Fixed a crash when using the "Show in Finder/Explorer" option in the preset browser
* Fixed a rare issue which led to no presets being displayed in the browser
* Fixed an issue with enumeration of duplicates in the browser
If you come across any bugs or quirks with this version, please let us know asap.
Cheers,
Tas

That's parameter modulation then. This is a non-destructive kind of automation where the knob stays in its original position (and where it can be further tweaked or modulated). Bitwig Studio offers visual feedback in the plug-in parameter tab (I do not know the exact terminology/name of it).
