Does anyone know of Korg have sales?

(I unfortunately missed the deal on this and I don't have an immediate need for it, so happy to wait...)

yes

and mostly for software iirc
tip:
subscribe to korgs newsletter - they'll tell when it's sale
or obey the iOS appstore...

Nice, thank you! I see that on my phone...! I'll try and grab that asap!

Pretty hilarious prices for all three synths. I would say that they are completely worth the price. I am currently converting sysex files from DX7 to Opsix format, and there's an entire library of sounds available. Of course you could use some free DX7 alternative, but Opsix greatly expands on FM.

I am betting the SE versions will be on sale in a few months.

OS will be much better at a later date.
Heck, I don't even have an Editor for my mk ii keybed at the moment.

Dan @ Korg says this will all be addressed later in the year.

Interesting to the dearth of people getting an mk ii hardware.

Nothing from my American friends at present (as a Canadian).

egbert101 wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 8:47 pm I don't know if there is any difference in terms of firmware and therefore the Native software between mk1 and mk2. I think the increase in polyphony is because a more powerful processor is used, and that's the reason why they came out with a mk2 as the previous processor and chipset became unavailable. I think it's a Raspberry Pie circuit thing anyway.

So I think the presets should just load identically, so long as the firmware is updated.

Wow, fantastic you guys are still working on the code. I will be getting one of the desktop modules in the future.

Speaking of which. Andertons has them now listed. Not in stock yet. And costs the same as the keyboard version. Looks beautiful in those ear brackets.

Would love to know the difference between Random 1+ and Random 2+, as well as the differences
from Random 3 +/- and Random 4 +/-

Random 1+ and Random 2+ generate random positive numbers, unique per voice, at note-on.
Random 3 +/- and Random 4 +/- are similar, but the generated numbers may be either positive or negative

Post

They just produce *different* random numbers! So, 1+ and 2+ are both positive-only, but will be different values. Same with 3 and 4 +/-.

For example: let's say that you want to randomly alter Filter Cutoff and Resonance. If you want the randomness to be correlated, modulate both with 1+. If you want the randomness to be different between the two, modulate Cutoff with 1+, and Resonance with 2+.

Turn Modwave into a 2 operator FM synthesizer (and a whole lot more). Hugely impressive sounds when you combine wavetables and FM synthesis:

Wow, the sound design on these presets is on a new level. I think they're making use of FM but it goes to show just how well designed the modwave engine has become:
