Best theory behind jazz fusion chords

This is the type of stuff that is much easier to understand if you have a strong grasp of the major scale and all of its modes. Once you know that stuff inside and out, it really can help you move to the fusion sound which has a lot of altered scales/chords over ii-V-I progressions. a ii-V-I is a lot easier to navigate with that major scale foundation.
