Hey everyone,
I'm searching for the distinctive lead sound featured in Mario Picotto's hits like "Lizard" and "Iguana."

This sound also appears in the 1996 track "WW3 Prophecy," suggesting it might be a pre-set patch from a rompler, rather than a synthesizer. The way the sound changes with the notes hints at it being a sample.

I've thoroughly checked my Roland JV-1080 but haven't found anything similar. It seems likely that it originates from a rompler released before 1996. Does anyone have suggestions on where else I could look?

There is this video maybe you can find something in there?
https://www.reddit.com/r/ClassicTrance/ ... o_picotto/
At 9min he talks a bit but nothing about the lead it seems:
"The bass was Novation bass"
"The kick was 909"
"The snare was many but basics"

Sounds like a dirty (distortion, noise added) supersaw, dressed with reverb.
The way the formants go along with the melody gives away it's sample-based.

Ive added a cymbal sample which was loaded into the Vital sampler which gives it that extra high end.
I think I hear a vocal sample through it as another layer but if you can find a good one and perhaps even a better cymbal sample it's not too bad
