Hi. I have a question, does YouTube change the sound quality? I have many songs worked in the studio and put on YouTube and I notice a big difference in sound when I listen to the song on YouTube, I put the song at 48khz 24bit in the video but it sounds worse than mp3. it seems to me that the reverb, the high frequencies, the presence, the volume are lost,
stereo. is there a setting on YouTube for audio quality?

Post

I think 192kbps is the max audio quality on Youtube. Changing the settings from 480p to 720p will not increase audio at all, just the video resolution.

So yes, the audio quality of your original audio will get reduced when uploading it to Youtube.

I'm on Google and what I see is : YouTube uses a bitrate of around 126 kbps for its audio streams.
Quora states : The maximum audio bitrate for a YouTube video is 256 kbps AAC (Advanced Audio Coding).

YouTube will transcode all audio, which is a lossy process. Both high and low bitrate transcodes are created to serve to high and low bandwidth clients. You can use the YouTube "Stats for nerds" feature to identify which version you are listening to: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7519898 (https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7519898)

Nowadays, YouTube generally sounds fine but exceptions do exist. Dealing with sound at low bit rates is tricky. Reducing the dynamic range using compression for example could help a little with sound quality but there's no real fix.

didn't they turn off the entire internet once?
can't hackers do that?

why don't you hack youtube
turn it off for messing with your sound quality?

i guess hackers have their limit
i guess google/youtube have better professional antihackers
