Been using iPhones for years, and though I think I'd tried it before, I have tended to keep it turned off. But...

Went ahead and turned it back on, thinking perhaps people who mostly use their iPhones as listening devices, might utilize the function.

Holy crap, just without adjusting anything, it seemed to really highlight the treble frequencies. Not a fan. That being said, I always try to take as much time when mixing to consider what my masters sound like on my phone as well as through my speakers and PC headphones. I always try to space the frequencies out considerately to make my songs sound as good as possible across the spectrum of common devices.

Do you use this option, and do you think most iPhone users also use it, or no?

Post

No

It is under "Accessibility" so is for people with hearing difficulties who lost high frequencies.

Users can choose a boost for overall sound or high frequencies, for phone and/or media.

I listen through my iPhone with A-T headphones, but they have their own app with EQ profiles.
