I hope you didn't find that out after the dating :hihi:
Sadly yes, I downloaded and opened it, and then I could not untaste it :P
Turn the light off and try again :hihi:
Oh no, I need to see the tasty-looking theme to be fooled!
In the dark, I can instantly feel the fat, bloated DAW.
Except in Reaper's case, she's practically anemic. Reaper is the least bloated DAW available commercially--even if you don't like how it looks/works. No installer is over 26Mb in size. Windows' installer is only 15 MB. There is a lot of power packed very effeciently. :)
C/R, dongles & other intrusive copy protection equals less-control & more-hassle for consumers. Company gone-can’t authorize. Limit to # of auths. Instability-ie PACE. Forced internet auths. THE HONEST ARE HASSLED, NOT THE PIRATES.

It is indeed true that Reaper is less friendly, although I don't know that there is an honest test that determines by what percent less friendly it may be. I certainly doubt that it's 82%. :)

But exaggerations aside, the fact is indeed true that it is less friendly. Reaper is a lot like Linux. The learning curve is a bit more steep, but there are fabulous benefits for those who don't mind that. Also like Linux, the benefits come in the form of being small, efficient, and extremely capable, while remaining extremely flexible. That's the honest trade-offs. Some people will like Reaper for what it is, and some people will dislike reaper for what it is not. It is up to each individual to decide what works best for him/her/their self. :)
