8th of March-kudos to Roland for the demo video featuring Maika Loubté. In a saturated marked, appealing to funky sisters could be a smart move.

Kudos to Roland for hiring a marketing company that said"Hey lets film as many women on this as possible, the world is in a full anti male bias now because of all the glitzy scandals" even though your market is 95% male.
Sadly it is the 2018 equivalant of the 80s scantily clad women draped over items in marketing.
And to be fair, most of those videos are mediocre at best.
Duh

Finished my first full track with the TR-8S. I'm loving it so far, great sounding drum machine and the effects are top notch. The compressor/drive effect sounds great on the 909 Kick. I used the 909 kit but swapped out a couple of the ACB tones with factory samples.

I keep going back and forth on buying a TR-8S. I owned a TR-6S for a short period a few months back, but sold it literally about a week or two before the last big update. I loved the sound, but didn't love the workflow and, especially, the lack of a song mode (I'll never understand why a developer would omit this from drum machine/groovebox :idiot:). Anyway, I'm really become disillusioned by Native Instruments and the direction they've gone with Maschine, so I'm seriously considering selling my Maschine mk3 and replacing it with a TR-8S, but just haven't made the decision to pull the trigger yet. For those of you who have/had a TR-8S, how have you dealt with the lack of song mode? Do you mostly use it for jamming, or record one loop at a time, or....?

i had one in 2015 and quickly sold it as i didnt like it, but have been reconsidering lately since you can use it without being connected to their daw now apparently?

I've owned every iteration of the Maschine since the day mk1 was released. What started out as a great idea for a nicely integrated software/hardware drum machine has evolved into a convoluted mess of a drum machine with a tacked-on half-ass DAW that's just not even fun to use anymore. It reminds me of the Homer Simpson car:

The Maschine+ is the standalone model that works without being connected to a computer. The standard Maschine and Mikro mk3 are just hardware controllers that require a computer to run the software.

TR-8S the FM Synth!

If you are willing to put in the time and effort, with Roland's frustrating workflow, then you can do some amazing things with it. All this from a few free updates.
