Official MS Win7 support ended January 13, 2015.
you’re getting confused my microsoft’s terminology - ‘end of mainstream support’ means no FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS only, windows 7 is still in ‘extended support’ ‘til end of next year, which means it continues to get normal bugfxes and security patches ‘til then (so there’s 23 months of life in the old dog yet)

may seem a trivial difference, but as someone involved in planning a corporate scale migration to win10 as a result believe me it’s not

After some more quick checking:

Cubase 9.5, Live 10, Pro Tools 12 have all dropped 32-bit support. All three still support Win7, but only 64bit versions.

And Avid specifically says this:
Pro Tools 12.8.3 is the last release that will support Windows 7; releases after 12.8.3 will not be tested on Windows 7, and any new bugs that are Windows 7-specific will not be fixed. Please upgrade to Windows 10 before updating to Pro Tools versions past 12.8.3.
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/comp ... quirements

Note Avid has hundreds of employees, and the other two something similar. We have two, and I would not be surprised if the others above do the same in the next versions.

Breeze 2.0 is:

64bit-Only on OSX
64bit-Only on Win7
64bit or 32bit on Win8 and Win10

...and requires Open-GL.

(why 32bit on win8 and win10 but not 7? simply bc it happens to work and we can check it. Win 7 32bit does not AFAIK, and we don't have such systems to check on anymore. And I happen to like to use Sound Forge Win a lot for development/testing, and it is still 32-bit only so Win10 32bit is convenient for that. But really everyone should be gravitating to 64bit by now.)

We do our absolute best to say "YES" as often as possible, but sometimes we must face reality...

If you have ANY kind of issue within the above requirements we are more than happy to explore it and do our best to make it perfect. :tu:

If you have an older system that does not meet these requirements, the 1.x versions of our products work great on 32-bit OSX, and Win back as far as XP even if I am not mistaken, and do not require Open-GL etc.

Yes, but it's not ironic at all. You said Win7 x64 with a x64 host are officially supported. And because of that I switched to x64 (there's no more x32 in my life). And if it wasn't working on at least one of my machines, there wasn't really a reason for me to upgrade at this time.

It's actually interesting that the other user has the same problem (works on a desktop, but not on a laptop), yet on a different Win...

a quick pass at Beethoven using only several instances of Breeze 2 and panning. No other processing. I did not even adjust any levels. I used just one take of each of the parts from the PCM format of the awesome anechoic chamber recordings by Jukka Pätynen and Tapio Lokki at the Academy of Finland as discussed in the journal "Acta Acustica united with Acustica".

DRY version for comparison to the Breeze 2 version! Panning is the only processing applied:

Saturday morning stress test ... 1024 instances in Logic anyone? :o 1250% out of a theoretical 1600% CPU usage. Prob could load a few dozen more, but what's the point?

Image

http://www.2caudio.com/sitecontent/prod ... _Logic.png

Preset: Alg Mode: Classic A, ModMode A -- a relatively low CPU usage preset, but not the lowest possible.

I loaded the "Russian Hall" preset (moderate to high-ish (in the spectrum of Breeze) CPU usage preset -- and the one I used in the Beethoven example above), one per track and tried to duplicate the the track as many times as possible, but I ran into a limit in logic at 253 tracks, and I was only at about 35% total system CPU usage.

So in the second test I loaded 8 instances per track.

iMacPro 8-Core. Yes, I know not everyone has this kind of machine, but note the equivalent Skylake-X CPU is not really that expensive ($500 or so). And this stuff will make its way into all CPUs shortly. Note also this is on the 8-core machine, not the max available which is now 18-core.

Andrew will decide when to release it in his web-store, this time I won't deal with the marketing myself :)

That amount of reverb will probably create a black whole soon, be careful!

It's going to be used in the next large hardon convertor

I hope there is a solution for the messed up folders on High Sierra.
This seems to be in all 2CAudio tools the case. Is it because of the updated file system?
It´s a random mixture. Not the world´s end but (especially in Kaleidoscope) it´s hard to find anything now :D

Hi Andrew,

will there be an update for the older expansion pack and the presets of breeze 1?

Thanks and greets,

Removing an instance of Breeze 2.0.3 from Ableton Live 9.7 causes the Ableton GUI to either instantly turn completely white, or to be gradually replaced over a few seconds with white rectangles until the GUI is completely white. I can then use the "New" command from the File menu, which loads a new default project, but the GUI stays white until the program is closed and re-opened.

Yes, it is caused by Apple's new APFS introduced in High Sierra. It is fixed already in Breeze 2.

We will update all other plugs to fix this yes. KS update may be ready as soon as tomorrow. Aether and B2 will take a little longer as we have changed some things they depend on during Breeze 2 development, so it requires a little more time and Denis has a (well deserved) vacation planned starting in a few days.

There was an *update* of sorts already in that the file has been changed to to the new installer package format to allow loading in Breeze 2.

In terms of retuning these preset files to use all the new Breeze 2 things, yes, I would like to have it done, and I hope it will be. This expansion was created by a third party "Den", who has great ears for such things, and I want to have him update this one as his time permits. It's better to have different perspectives and designers for all the packs I think instead of just having me make them all. I already made most of the factory presets and all of the "Simply Better" expansion, so it's better to have additional perspectives.

So ideally we will eventually have:

Breeze 2 Pack consisting of:
Glacier Breeze Exp (Simon's)
Simply Better Exp (Andrew's)
Simplicity Exp (Den's)
4th Exp (no title yet, made by another guy who made tons of factory presets for Eventide, TC, Lex etc)

and I want these all to be updated to make full use of all 2.0 features.

and then we also have all the 1.0 presets (>300), which will not be updated, but are still perfectly useable if desired.

Simon's will be available this coming week and has a bunch of really cool stuff! :tu:
