Some new Hive music, perhaps to unwind from a workday of serving 'the pointy haired boss',
or when preparing a leisurely dinner etc

Not easy keeping youthful at my age, so making 'kids music' fills in some gaps.
According to my notes, this was ZebraCM and Podolski, with an eeevillll 3rd party delay plugin.

I put 2 songs in my music website with u-he products. "My Point of View" (the song on top) has Repro-5, Hive, some non-u-he synths, and lots of Presswerk compression. The next song down is "I Call You"; it has ZebraHZ, Diva, and some non-u-he synths. Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor! Here is my link:

Every sound in this video was made with ACE, which I think is probably my favorite synthesizer ever.

In 'My Point Of View', the off-beat chord on the verses (sounds like brass, guitar and synth rolled together nicely) is a nice touch. Kind of glues each line together. The percussionist is doing fine adding a splash cymbal here and there, I like the growling synth swirls behind the guitar solo that don't compete in the lead's (excellent) tonality, and the bass line is nicely busy and interesting. I enjoy the synth solo, bordering on a middle-east influence with the quick portamento. The extended synth dive to the conclusion was nice, I smiled, as I was expecting another verse,
but it kept on keepin on. Good to avoid predictability. Making a riser of the same synth tone as an intro might be interesting?

Lots of fun synth parts before between and after the verses in 'I Call You', including the percussion sounds. The blends are excellent, moving from smooth to crunch and back. From 1:24 to 1:46, I think I'd crank up the volume, as the parts seem too good to be so quiet. Nice vocal recording and attention to detail in both releases!
Cheers

Very cool that you pushed ACE away from it's strengths...to even more strengths :hihi:
The pristine highs and woodsy orchestral parts are sweet. Reminds me of the string attack modes in UGO's M-Theory synth. Linking tempo mods to animation is a nice bonus. Lot's of cool work happening!

glokraw,
Thank you for the reviews! Now listening to "Riding the Ups": one of those synth sounds kind of remind me of steel drums. This is a nice and relaxing song! Now listening to "Summer Sun". Sounds like it's getting windy outside. I actually like this song a little better. Nice work! :)

Glad you enjoy the tunes! Here's a new one, made using Hive 2 synth sounds,
with a subtle BlueCat and NI effect:

It did get windy, gusts over 30 mph with snow, and temps in the teens: snow  shovel.
(I heeded the squirrel's advice in 'Prepping For Snow', and made good use of the extra firewood.)
Hoping you're staying dry and warm beneath that huge river in the sky over the City Of Angels!
I've seen many severe weather videos on youtube, flooding is so tough to battle!

I don't recall it EVER snowing in the city I live in, and I have lived in the same city since 1987. This guy I know lives about 1,000 feet from me, and is maybe 100 feet higher in elevation & he said it briefly snowed at his house. We have hills here, but not real mountains in my city. Snow level dropped down to about 1,500 feet elevation, which is extremely low for the Los Angeles area.

The song on top is called “The Tank of The Shark” and the lyrics have to do with me actually snorkeling in the Georgia Aquarium with two Whale Sharks (one is 27 feet long!), three Manta Rays (one has a 17 foot wing span!), a Sawfish (about 8 feet long), two Black Tipped Reef Sharks (one about 7 feet long), and hundreds of big fish! The photo below is me swimming with one of the Whale Sharks. That song has Hive 2, Diva, some non-u-he synths, and some Presswerk compression. The next song down is called “Found Today When I Was Earlier Lost”. It has ZebraHZ and some non-u-he synths. Please tell me how you like the music and how they can be improved, and I can return the favor (leave me a link). Here is my link:
