sorry about the dumb names.
23_words
loads 23 words wavefiles and plays them back sequentially/randomly in sync with host with randomised pitch, panning, looping, 'scratching' (pitch envelope)
lotus
2 voice algorithmic synth, basically just spews notes in key. ~40-odd temperaments, the 12et scales are on the chart included with 'talent.' information on other scales included. some of them are new temperaments based on math progressions.
given much consideration, there's a diagram explaining it at the bottom of this post.
ordinate
to go with 'lotus,' a probability sequencing drummer. new? each step has 3 sample-outcomes (volume, multisamples, you decide) plus silence.. the sliders set the weight of each per step.
you can load 3 different patterns - the fourth 'set of three' sets probability to switch between them at another resolution.. so you can eg. program your 'fill pattern' to be more probable every 8th measure, et c.
muchacho
a 'friend' for 'ordinate.' since ordinate has a basic time resolution, 'muchacho' goes on top of it to ramdonly 'buffer override' each step.. eg. you can set the 16th note before your snare to repeat 2x 30% of the time.. stuff like that.. it's lower cpu method than 'gum,' but lacks the 'glide.'
channelswap
another 'ordinate' assistor.. uses the same clock sync technology, but it's only job is to switch left and right channels occasionally.
muchacha
a quick wrapper for david haupt's granulator, uses the same clock setup as the other stuf here, with probability stuf for each parameter per step.. there's probably other free plugs that cover this. uses a bit of cpu but here it is
power
this is 'for me,' so no fancy gui. 4 voices, percussion synth based on the 'expo' engine (inspired by dx100.' just 3 oscs with pitch envelopes and pwm. "imo" makes some nice percussion "oc" :p
***FORMANT SHIFTER*** (no image)
since it looks like 'omnivox' isn't in distribution, this is my wavecycle-grabbing formant shifter jic there are no other f.s. available.
two issues - sometimes it 'starts wrong' and just sounds like scribble.. when it 'syncs' (which hopefully is most of the time, haven't tried it outside of se) it can actually be very smooth.. that 'wrap you up's ample i used to demo 'sandh' can go a few sandh comes out w/o artifacts for a few semitones
oc cos it's a 'wavecycle grabbing't echnique which uses a lpf to find 'pitch rate' zero crossings, it's going to sound crappy on extended sibilance, breathy whispers, stuff like that. clearly pitched stuff (like 'proper singing') should come out good. if the clock misses + it sounds like white noise, just start the host again :p

the diagram to explain 'lotus' -
despite the fact that 'muchacha' is ~the least novel plugin of this set, i think the 'readme' file is one of my more lucid moments. the 'readme' for 23_words is probably the opposite. apologies - it should be simple to suss once you load some samples, start the host, and hold down a key.
which is incidentally the way to play all of these instruments :p

fantastic thankyou, some very cool stuff to try out there.
i'll come back with any bugs/suggestions in about a week
cheers,
steve.

Did quick tests...
Sweet stuff.
GREAT THANKS...
Loading Power my hosts give me
"Can't load Module. 'Soundbytes Initializer'.
Opened SB_INITIALIZER.SEM in a text editor
(scroll, scroll, scroll) readable text but no enlightment.
???
Lotus looks like a real beast.
Let's see if i can wrap my head around it.
Cheers,

the 'initialiser' is an old .sep module that sends a non-zero value on initialisation.. i use it to sort the keymapping (4 timbres triggered by every group of 4 keys across keyboard)tl wrote: Loading Power my hosts give me

still works for me :p if you're really interested, i can use a 'drum trigger' module which uses 4 discrete kay assigns :p but will be ~a week until i burn another cd to import :p
dunno if lotus is all that beasty, i don't think it's sophisticated enough to generate more than a few interesting patterns. will probably try another algo soon that mixes between separate clocks cos imo the 'tie'% and lfo>clock rate is a too-cheesy way of making different length notes..

ordinate is fantastic
trying to wrap my head around lotus but i love the idea, i still use diner for a lot of stuff, i guess this is kind of a "posh" version of that with a built in synth ?
cheers.
steve.

>diner
it's all random :p
these plugs *should* have recallable output in hosts.. i took steps to make sure 'seed' values are integers (some hosts/fxp?? round off) but haven't tested :p
the 'better' thing is eg. you can transpose output (be it a repeating pattern or no) with one of the 'modifiers,' save patch, reopen another instance and change the sound/pattern seed to have different parts that follow the same transposition sequence, or otherwise correspond :p
but basically it's a quick solution for 'loads of random notes' as are most things.
>
ordinate
i don't think i've seen any other vsti commercial or no that do 'probability mixing per step' -
the 3 parts should be enuff for dumb kick/snare et c. (w/ muchacho on top :p) or for 1 part and use other instances for other percussions, but since the cpu on it was low in testing i'll "come back to it," so if anyone has input or requests, make them! filters, et c..

not that anyone will be interested and kind of random, literally, but here is a little excpert from me playing with 3 lotus and an ordinate.
fun

thanks.
