It was time to visit the Mac side, so I got a Mac Pro. I'm using Final Cut Pro to do some video editing but was thinking about using Logic Express or Logic Pro -- their is a Universal version for both now. I've gone thru the comparison chart, but would like to get some real feedback from exiting Pro and Express users.
What is the cheapest way into Logic Pro -- can I go thru an upgrade option that will workout cheaper?

the cheapest way to pro (the real deal, not academic) is to know someone who works for apple. employees get it for $499.

Check E-Bay, but I'd wait another month. I'm betting Logic 8.0 is right around the corner, and Apple nails you for a $300 upgrade to the next version unless you buy 7 from them like 2 days (if they're feeling nice) before they announce 8, they don't give 30 day leeways.
