Rock Vsti 1.1 is good ive heard. Also try Advanced Rock Creator. Even though it is shareware it is a quality plug in.
Hackintosh, Ableton, Various plugins inc Repro, Zebra, Tal bassline 101, Xpand, Serum. Mackie onyx audio interface, Presonus Eris e5, Samson Sr850/Yamaha RH5ma headphones, Novation nocturn, Korg nano control 2, Maudio keystation 49, AKAI APC25.

For trance?
Albino 3
Vanguard (don't own, but demo'ed it. Nice synth)
Firebird
and...ARP 2600 V. Seriously. It has a nice unison and other functions that go way beyond just emulating the original 2600, such as a tracking generator which allows for complex motion type sounds. You can assign it to just about any other function and even manually draw the modulation waveforms, which can then be individually tempo-synced. It's a bitch to program for those like myself who are not used to the old-school modular approach, however.
