any free roland sh-101 vst emulations out there?

Post

there was one, but it was sounding terrible, not at all like a sh101 and it was buggy as hell ... i'd also wish for a 101 clone ... oh well, i still got my mc202, which is just the same as the sh101, same soundengine ...

edit: meant the SCDevelopment SH101, tested ages ago ...[/u]

have you made any samples with it?

no, doesn't make sense to me, as the filter is the great thing (in conjunction with the osc's), and i'd like to be able to tweak/automate them, so i used a philip reese cv/midi converter for the notes, and when mastering, i recorded each movement made directly with the knobs/sliders ... :)

There is a Reason SH-101 Refill. Not a vst but sampled.

SH-101 VSTI emulation? well there're more except the things above.

* TC electronics Powercore 01 : it's a DSP powered plug-in and is also bundled with TC powercore DSP card. I used this several years ago. It looks almost exactly like SH-101 and sounds similar. But to my ears it's more harsh and digital.

* Sonic Timeworks SH-1001 : This is another VSTI looks like SH-101 and resembles it. just give it a visit. http://www.sonictimeworks.com/sh.php

I tried the Demo of Sonic timeworks SH-101 emulation over 2 years ago and relativly speaking from a synth standpoint it sounded great. I don't know what an actual sh101 sounds like but the emulation sounded pretty raw, warm and analogue(ish) to me. Give it ago.

Thanks, Coxy that you pointed it out. I corrected the link now. :-)

Martin Fay said the "Type R" filter in the VAZ synths was inspired by the SH-101.
