I had this idea that playing power chords with Slayer2 and processing it with Amplitube2 could give me some really cool playable rhythm guitars for rock music. I've tried to come up with something for a while now but haven't been able to find any particularly good combinations of settings in the two plugins. I only get kinda weak, synthetic and not very useful results.

I still believe this plugin combination has great potential and that it's just me who suck in getting the best out of them.

Anyone who can share some experience using Slayer2 with Amplitube or maybe a similar setup with Guitar Rig or Guiter Suite or so? Can you suggest some good settings I ought to try?

I would just buy a guitar. Slayer is $90 and for $60 more you can get a cheap guitar that will sound way better. Also trying new ways and methods will boost your creativity.

You mean, like, a *real* guitar!? You're kidding right!? :hihi:

Actually tried learning to play the guitar some years ago. I totally sucked! :bang: So I'm working with Slayer and samples and stuff instead now...

Successfully getting Slayer to sound good through an ampsim will take longer than learning how to play a real guitar.

Wouldn't it sound best recorded direct thru your hosting prog? It is a synth!

If you're just bored I recommend "Chimp" it's by Fretted Synth, the Freeamp guy. I use it on real guitar.
