Can you point me to any good free piano Vst instruments? Preferably with some tweakable settings

Not sure you'll find a good one that is free. However, an excellent set of pianos is included in the PlugSound Volume 1 (Keyboards), which sells for around $55. If you have a softsampler, you might look into any of the SampleTekk pianos, many of which are for the next few days are only $25 each. (A group buy. Excellent pianos.) On the other hand, if you have a soundfont player that can load as a vsti, search this forum for links to Matt Helgesson's Maestro piano.

If you need some tweakability, you can add SFZ Buddy (also Free) to access the hidden parameters of
SFZ Player: Reverb, Chorus, Enveloppe Controls:
http://asseca.com/nicfit/sfz_buddy.html
And then you have a decent piano with controls and FX for FREE:
I use that in my laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pentium M 1.73 Ghz)
before render (not always) with Art Vista piano and Altiverb
in my studio machine

Thanks aleph75 !
I am downloading now. I listened to the demos , and it sounded fine. I suspect that the dynamics is not the best.
I use the sfz a lot, and a 92 mb soundfont is usable even on my old laptop.
I also agree about the "Glaceverb". It is very good.
All the best
