synth/hard drive.. let us know if it's anything we can help with.

having lost *two* studios full of beloved and prized instruments, i sympathise.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

See the warez pages, it is not my instruments this time, but the hardest working module developer in the community. I fear the future..... We have lost too many module developers.

Seriously, this is WAY too vague.

name the dev at least, so we can google, which will doubtless bring-up these "warez" pages.

It's got to be CK. and, if what I just saw was correct......
I guess it was just a matter of time.

I assumed CK also, OR EVM, but haven't found anything yet.

I did. But, you know I think this has happened to him before. And I remember installing a new version of SE one time and copying modules and Chris' absolutely freaked out. I think he's got a trick or two up his sleeve. Otherwise we'll be inundated with bad SE synths that don't work properly and you know there's more than a few detectives around here that can sniff this sort of thing out.
All he needs do is fill out that DMCA form.

I see it, it's the 2nd hit w/Google. Since they're coded to your registered name, he can track that, but if it's a stolen credit card account I don't know where it goes from there.

And what good do pirates have w/it, they're too lazy to make anything. If someone DID release a plug, it would have to be registered to assign or whatever and we'd know.

Totally useless:

1. It takes ages to fill the various different DMCA forms. The rules to submit a copyright infringment sometimes are so complex that it's evident that the upload sites are pro-warez (you know: someone can upload something without provide any information about being or not the copyright holder of the content, and if you, the author, ask to remove a file you have to provide any sensible information about you: address, telephone number, etc.!).

2. The files are uploaded again and again and again on new servers. A developer should spend almost all his time looking for new mirrors.

No way to stop them. The only sad thing is that they really think that "sharing is love".

No you report it to Google. And, seeing as how hackers are usually vain creatures that attach their names to what they do, it shouldn't be too hard for Jeff to slip in a piece of code in the next SE update that disables them. I think that's what he did last time. Like I said, when I just copied and pasted mine into a new build they freaked and showed up as empty modules. Reinstalled and worked fine. I just know Jeff did this. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah it looks like plugins only, but does say modules AND vst for some reason. I could visit the site in Sandboxie, but I'd rather not.
