Hi Hunterkiller,
Thanks for your tip.
I tried to change the bleeps a little bit.
Now it has much more reverb and I changed the modulation.

Hi annode,
I made the key change with fader automation.

Here is my new version:

Just listening to the latest version...

I won't say a word about any suggestions at this point would only be like telling you how to make my version of the song. There's nothing needed. No glaring issues. It's gorgeous.

The break and the key change really keep the interest level up. Makes the piece feel more like a sonic landscape that we are carried through rather than one long climb up an incline. Very nice!

Good job.

Only just spotted this today.

This is a very smooth piece of work. It's interesting to see how your style has developed and improved. This has none of the 'stiffness' your earlier work had.

:tu:
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

H emdot_ambient, Hi folderol,
many thanks for your comments. :-)

It's very important to me to get comments and tips from other musicians.
That makes my music better.
Thanks to all for your help! :-)

Hey, a bit OT here, but kind of because of this thread I started a search for information on the old and very rare Farfisa Syntorchestra that Klaus used on some of his old albums like Moondawn. Finally I found a high def youtube demo of it (listen especially after 4:30) in which the guy played something like one of the melodies in Mindphaser.

The Syntorchestra was basically a preset synth with both a polyphonic divide-down section (essentially a string synth like those from Curmar) and a monosynth that could be layered or played separately. It had more sound shaping capabilities than most preset synths, so you weren't stuck with just the factory sounds.

Anyway, I realized I might be able to come up with something similar on Albino 3 using one layer with a string synth sound and one layer with a monosynth lead sound.

I haven't perfected the lead part yet (I've got too much envelope mod on the filter and not enough of a reedy sound), but this is it so far:

And here's the lead and string presets by themselves:
http://www.emdotambient.com/VSTDemos/Al ... usLead.mp3
http://www.emdotambient.com/VSTDemos/Al ... yViola.mp3

I'll share the presets with you when I finish if you like. I'm too far away right now...and that string synth sound is the best one I've programmed with a non-sample based synth. This is actually the first preset I've tried in Albino 3 starting from scratch.

Hi emdot_ambient,
I like your presets very much and I would be happy to get it for a new song.

Today I made my ultimate final version of "Trancesphere X".
I added at 8:46 a synth percussion pattern and a little bit later a
ringmod sound.
I hope that it is an improvement.

Any other comments? :-)

Magnificent track you've done. I'm a long time Klaus fan (rarely a day goes by without some of his 70s stuff played in our house), so this was certainly to my taste. It sounded similar to Ron Boots' stuff, as well. It veered from its inspiration enough to make it interesting in its own right, and avoided sounding like a xerox. Nicely done.

Gucky, just listened to the latest version and hell yeah I'm enjoying that reverbed sequence :D - now we're really back in the 80's, the reverb really ties in everything well into the mix, doesn't it. The additions are excellent (nice hynpotic filter effects), this is an all round top notch track man. :tu:

emdot_ambient, that solo lead should sound more like a solo voice (in the album ver at least), I can't remember where I found this or who did it, but someone on the net did a short demo of that part: http://www.sendspace.com/file/dl4vyf

Hi Scot, Hi Hunterkiler,
many thanks for your comments. :-)
I think the song is now finished.
At the moment I make a remix of an older song from me called "Tangerine sky".
When it is finished I will release it in the kvr-forum.

Post

Yeah, like the new additions, too. Sounds very complete now.

HK: I know about the lead being not quite "there"; still working on that one. That link, though, didn't work for me.

Hi emdot_mabient,
thanks for your comment.

By the way, I made a new remix of an old song from me called
"Tangerine sky 2009".

Hi Gucky
was searching for syntorchestra and found this thread. i've listened to some of your other stuff and was impressed, but I cannot get any links to TrancesphereX to work. It gets good reviews above - i would love to hear this as i also love the early schulze work. Ashra - New Age of Earth should be in everyone's music collection. Cheers.
