Podium full costs only $50, and it's quite an amazing DAW.yevster wrote:If you're on Windows, just grab the cheapest version of Sonar X3. Now that they've abolished plugin and track limits, you can use third-party plugins to fill in any functional gaps. I think it's the cheapest full-featured DAW for Windows on the market (unless you count the non-commercial license for Reaper).

There is one important fact that a lot of guys don't know: in Germany print ads are measured by a neutral instance since 1949, a company called IVW (www.ivw.eu) and I don't know if these guys count sold online copies. The higher the amount of sold copies the more can be charged for ads. And print ads are way more valuable than online ads (hello dear adblock users ). That's why a lot of publishers push their print editions.BERFAB wrote:I would think that pressing, packaging and shipping costs involved with including a DVD with the mag would far outweigh the costs of simply hosting the content for download to subscribers. I'm sure they have their reasons, but I'd be surprised if there were many mags that still had DVD's in the not too distant future.Numanoid wrote:Yeah, they don't, but wouldn't call that ridiculously illogical. How is that even possible Doesn't it usually cost 100 bucks?
I would have felt pretty pissed off had I paid full price for it and then suddenly they more or less start giving it away.
I got it for 40 dollars some time ago, thought that was a good deal?

They've always sold it on the cheap, they sold it for ~20 a couple years ago during namm and messe. If someone spent 100$ on it, well I guess they just dont do any research into purchases
Super good deal though for those that eventually want the full product. Since they have 1/2 off upgrade sales you could basically get s1v2 pro for 155$ or producer for 55$

Seeing how they devalute their own products, I would hardly pay more than 30 bucks for an upgrade.

Bought the Goldbaby pack and had a quick play with it. All sounds very good and it's handy to have more sounds all loaded up in Impact ready to go.standalone wrote:I don't have them, but there are a couple of audio demos here:audientronic wrote:Thanks for the heads up..EnGee wrote:Presonus Today only deals:

Well, I'm not sure they are actually devaluing their products. These kind of deals appeal to people like me who have absolutely need for more stuff. Especially when they are already well covered in a particular area.Numanoid wrote:ezelkow1 wrote:Super good deal though for those that eventually want the full product. I certainly was tempted to grab it for 5$ even knowing that I have no need for it and might not use it very much. But in the check-out saw that they have no Paypal or Google wallet option and skipped it as I rarely tend to give out my credit card number during those impulse buys.
But then again, if I had bought and maybe liked it I could even have upgraded later and so on... So not at all necessarily devaluing a product.

Kinda weird as pretty much my thoughts as well though when I got to the payment page they did have paypal so I went ahead and bought. Not at all sure I'll ever use it though but it does seem to have good reviews so who knows....robotmonkey wrote:Well, I'm not sure they are actually devaluing their products. That's funny, there was no Paypal option for me either. I purchased the Goldbaby soundset using my pre-paid card, very handy for internet.chrisby wrote:Kinda weird as pretty much my thoughts as well though when I got to the payment page they did have paypal so I went ahead and bought. I wonder why they offer Paypal payment only for some people, maybe it depends on your location. I'm in Europe.
The orders are dealt by Plimus, a company specialized in on-line payments. So using your credit card wouldn't be as dangerous as if it were Presonus who did it, but using a pre-paid card is a lot safer in any case.

I don't see no 1/2 upgrade sales. Am I missing something?Numanoid wrote:ezelkow1 wrote:Super good deal though for those that eventually want the full product. Since they have 1/2 off upgrade sales you could basically get s1v2 pro for 155$

As for the devaluation, it's true, once you get used to getting bargains like this you start thinking twice about paying the usual price, especially
if you're in not in a hurry to get the product. I own 3 DAWs right now, including the Artist edition that I bought yesterday, so I guess I can wait for the next jackpot
