Is 2C's Aether REALLY worth it? (the answer is: yes, certainly)

FYI Computer Music, UK, just did an Aether 1.5.0 mini-update reveiw in edition # 156, October 2010.
Here we have a free update to one of our favorite reverbs,
Aether. First up are new quality modes for oversampling (giving a subtly
clearer top end), Ultra Smooth modulation (more round and
'real'), and better offline interpolation (increasing
coherency and definition). The redesigned GUI is way
better and the preset browser is basically now the 'easy mode'
that we felt was missing from v1.0, with six (lockable) knobs for
tweaking on the fly. The ER and LR sections now have four
stereo modes apiece and independent predelay, and there's a
Cascade knob to feed the ER section into the LR. The range of
many parameters has been massively increased - for instance,
ultra-fast modulation can create a synth-like shimmer!
This is a great update that quashes the few criticisms we
had of v1. There's much more to it, but all you really need to
know is that Aether now sounds better, is more accessible for
newcomers and is yet more flexible for sound designers.
10/10

They had previously reviewed Aether 1.0 and also scored it 10/10 and awarded it the Editor's Choice, and the Performance award.

Thanks CM!

Beware - there is a Bug with Aether in the new Logic version (9.1.2) which I discovered yesterday. When using Logic in 64 Bit mode and inserting Aether in a Bus using the 32 Bit Bridge, when soloing that Bus a terrible very loud overload occurs, also displayed in the Aether graphics. This can seriously damage your speakers and ears, my ears are still ringing as it just happened again. Can someone confirm this?

Maybe someone here can help, i emailed support a few days ago but havent received a reply as of yet

Ive installed 1.5.1 twice but when i check in the info tab its still saying 1.5.0, what am i doing wrong? Do i need to uninstall Aether before installing the new version or something?

Im running Live 8.2.1 on Windows 7 64-bit
Thanks

Do you find this happening often/always for you with Logic 64 and 32 bit bridge? Or is it rare and random?

Has it ever happened to you when using Logic 32bit?

We have not seen this here.

Since I use Logic in 64 Bit (since 10 days or so) it has always happend - now that I know of this of course I don't solo the Aether Bus anymore, I just set the tracks routed to Aether to "No Output" in order to hear the Aether verb on it's own.

If you are an Aether user/fan and feel it is worthy of this award, we'd love to have your support & vote! Apparently there is a chance to win a pretty nice prize simply by voting...
