Are there any plugin FX similar to Logics Vocal Transformer that can produce "robot" like FX.
I know you can use a couple inserts (bitcrushers, ringmods, distortion) along with compression and eq to achieve a flat, compressed robot like sound. But I was wondering if there are any freebies out there that can do it in less steps. I also have NI Komplete, not sure if any of the Reaktor ensembles are good for something like that. Thanks |

not really looking for a vocoder. More of a vocal processor, like that logic vocal transformer. I actually think that program works a little more like pitch correcting software, as it is flattening it to one pitch.
i think i saw a free pitch correcting thing floating around here |

Robot-like and all one pitch is exactly what a vocoder does. The mp3 demo on the TAL page has a melody because a synth is being used to alter the pitch.
I've never used Logic, so maybe I'm not getting what you are asking for. ---- These pretzels are making me thirsty. |

Thanks Warmverb from Tone2 has a preset that does that. You can try the demo. |

What you are looking for is a vocoder, but there are also a couple of other techniques for sounding robotic. You can run your voice through a delay with an extremely short delay time (say 5ms) and high feedback. Then of course there is the autotune effect with exaggerated pitch correction.
But no, what you really want is a vocoder. ---- Incomplete list of my gear: Microsoft Windows XP |

Do you mean something like what the Boss VT1 Voice Transformer does with the Robot Button engaged but in vst?
"Special "robot" feature for vocoder-like effect" http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductI d=414 Got me thinking about Prosoniq PiWarp that I have but is no longer available for Windows. Looked for some PiWarp alternatives and found these: ReSynFX and Warp~ from MST. http://mst.metabin.com/ Good Luck |
