No comment on the Jazz question.. who knows (or cares?) .. Interesting piece though, holds together nicely.. plenty of interest in the percussion, and that hanging pad makes it feel like a coherent whole..

i was definitely entertained, so mission accomplished.
i don't think it's jazz though. which is neither good nor bad, just a statement of subjective classification. it's its own thing.

it's kind of a private joke, "is that jazz?" My roommate at CCM would say that where there was something you don't know what it is... in the composer segment at such a place, that was pretty often. 1978, before minimalism . (the context is, Louis Armstrong or somebody had the line 'what is jazz? if you have to ask you'll never know'
