Check out the 3:16 mark on this song by Sydney Blu called "give it up to me>" there's this sound that i think MGMT has used before..its that lead sound you hear come in...any ideas where that came from or how to make it ?? if anyone can do it, its you guys!!

Sounds like there's a lot of modulation going on there. From what I can tell, there's an LFO set to a fast rate modulating the pitch of one of the oscillators. Come to think of it, it sounds a little like what an exaggerated Reese bass might sound like played at a much higher octave. There could also be some saturation, followed by a low pass filter to smooth it out a little.
