Apologies in advance for the thread hijack, but I'd love to invite all OSC participants to this month's SWC over on http://www.mix-challenge.com
The theme of the game is "Tanzmaschine" (Dance Machine) and the desired genre is everything that fits into "90s Techno" (Detroit, Minimal, Banging, Schranz, JTEK, etc).
Would love to see you folks over there as well.

The SWC rules are simple (only the rule book is super detailed, to cover all eventualities):
Produce something(!) with any tool at your disposal fitting to the theme/genre, submit a mixdown, after the game: give (mandatory) feedback to your top 10 entries while also setting your personal top 10 ranking for them.

I'm in the process of testing the following cross platform synths for the OSC:
http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=2084
MonoChord is very interesting
https://www.kvraudio.com/product/monochord-1-4-by-maea
There are a variety of chiptune/classic console style synths here
http://socalabs.com/synths/papu/
Similar synths to these have been used for the OSC a while ago, but they have since seen significant upgrades:
http://nusofting.nusofting.com/Sinnah_VA_synth.html
http://www.cognitone.com/downloads/index.stml?p=5
Sprike seems to work fine but has a gui bug that occasionally makes certain fields appear inactive when the gui is reopened.
these may be challenging:
https://www.fullbucket.de/music/kern.html
Latency seemed to build up after a few instances of kern, and noise sounds seem to need significant processing.
https://www.fullbucket.de/music/scrooo.html

Let's do a weird round like when we did Mr. Alias. I would love a competition with one of xoxos' more esoteric creations.
I like the rounds with synths that can't modulate pitch with an envelope. Make people work for their percussion.
Otherwise, Eclipsis is a great capable synth and we've only done it once, quite a while ago.

Thanks,BlackWinny wrote:All these synths are compatible 32-bit/64-bit/OSX (and some are even compatible Linux), almost all are very known... and none of them has never been used for an OSC (!) while they all are awesome synths of very various prices which would promise hours of fun and exchanges.

The trend is to use free synths. N6 has actually been used twice and requires joining some non English site iirc.
Monochord is very cool in concept, but I'm getting some weird note stealing on the latest. It's pretty bad. I would love for it to be fixed, as I think this synth as some personality to it.
