what's new/changed/fixed in the windows version ?
An idiot on Set Theory:

Post

* added:
- Preset browser "SaveAs" functionality

* removed:
- Preset browser "Revert" functionality
- ".swp" preset file extensions from the Preset Browser display
- the "Pitch Shifter" module:
- renamed the "Band Pitch Shifter" module to "Pitch Shifter"
- existing presets with the "Pitch Shifter" module will load correctly except that SW will warn you about missing start and stop frequency parameters, simply dismiss the warnings and press "Save" (to update the preset with the new Pitch Shifter setup)
- SW will handle existing presets with the "Band Pitch Shifter" module and will load them with as if they referred to the (new) "Pitch Shifter" (please update your affected presets as this special handling may be removed in a future version)

* fixed:
- Frecho: dry signal leakage
- crashes and/or lockups when automating global parameters
- lost automated parameter changes when rendering
- deadlock in Reaper when in demo mode
- hosts are now correctly notified about SW IO mode changes (including during project loading)
- changed the Overlap factor parameter to take only power-of-two values thereby eliminating modes with inherent audibile artefacts

* improved:
- slightly polished exported parameter name generation
- new preset name generation (name of the current program instead of simply "current")
- significant overall speedup (up to 15%) and binary size reduction
- minor system resource usage reduction (SpectrumWorx no longer spawns unnecessary threads)
"Music is spiritual. The music business is not." - Claudio Monteverdi

Hi,
Basically, this was suppposed to be a port-only release, but, you should definitelly update to 2.1.0 - some serious bugs were fixed, and overall the plugin is more stable. One new feature is the Save As option for presets, since the preset renaming process was not well thought out in the initial version. You also won't see preset extensions in the preset window... and some other "cosmetic" stuff has been done.

In the next versions you should expect:
- synced LFOs
- AU support
- automated LFOs
- new modules!
- skinning support

But before that, please update to 2.1.0.

I was very impressed by Spectrumworx... I had started out demoing/testing during the Alpha phase (Mac version). I didn't make it to testing during the beta phase because I had one too many projects at the same time, but I've been wanting to pick up Spectrumworx ever since.

What I liked about it most, was the modular interface. The process of adding modules, replacing and reordering was extremely easy (at least I think so) and it lead to many interesting combinations.

Another thing I liked, was the ability to load audio files via Spectrumworx. Initially I was torn, between thinking this was a good idea, and then wonder at why I'd ever want to do so, but browsing the presets, which did include an audio file gave me some ideas on using it creatively.

I don't have any negative things to say about this, but that has a lot to do with the idea that it's extremely flexible and it has a unique/easy to use workflow for quick results (again, all my opinion). I'd have to A/B compare each module to specific plugins in order give a real critique, but again my overall opinion is that I like it allot.

I do think that the demo should be sufficient for knowing quickly if you like it or not. Even in alpha phase, this was very light on CPU resources. The most fun I had using this, was when dropping a separate instance on each multi-out channel from SonicCharge's µtonic.

I've had it since version1, and this is a definite improvement, but in itself it is like no other audio tool you'll get your mouse pointer on! Once you get you're head around FFT, and read the manual for the module details, you'll find a place for it in your toolset.

All plugins have 'extreme' ends of their configurable sound, but sometimes I feel that SW extends those boundaries a little more :)

Download demo, fiddle, buy!

Hi Greg, sorry for delay, it's Holidays already. :wink:

Discounts are not cumulative, so your 50% upgrade discount applies to regular price, which means you would pay $59.5.

Cheers!
