Maybe Reaper ????
I say that because it is king in doing custom ... well anything.
Other option may be one with excellent integration with controllers/keyboards.
But truth be said, I fear that in the digital domain your eyes may be almost as needed as you ears...

Ideally you need a program with customisable key shortcuts for pretty much everything and that can work with something like Jaws (screen reader software for the blind and partially sighted). Some threads discussing this in the Reaper forums:

Just to know... once I have seen a TV show with some musicians which had different types of problems and I always asked to myself what kind of plugins could help blind persons or people with other problems to use better music production softwares.
What kind of functions/plugins are the "most wanted"?

For a start stuff that has controls that are readable to screen reader software programme and ideally operable using a keyboard (although a good controller can also be useful)

Two thoughts:
Renoise can be used to make music without touching a mouse.
Notes and automation can be entered using only the computer's QWERTY keyboard.
Other features can be accessed and controlled using customizable keyboard shortcuts.
These include using the Global Navigation, the transport, disk browser, building instruments, controlling the Pattern Editor, Matrix and Sequencer, the Sample Editor and the Track DSP Chain.
For more info on Renoise Key Bindings see this page:

and for Renoise in general see:

Also hasn't Sonar won awards for its incorporation of assistive technology for the blind?
Thought I read that somewhere.

yah, that SAW integration looks (ironically) really good.aMUSEd wrote:Don't know about awards but I did find this:allofdrab wrote:

I wonder how it compares with using a voiceover app with Renoise.
Renoise is definitely the less expensive option, but SAW + Sonar could be great.

I had a blind colleague that makes music and uses DAWs daily. His DAW of choice is Sonar. It integrates quite well with the popular JAWS screen reading software.

Practically any tracker can be used without mouse. Renoise was mentioned already, but there's still a ton of freeware ones
