Got it for $37 because last year I won a $40 discount for doing one of Overlouds surveys so I upgraded from Mark 1 so the deal was unbeatable. I usually don't do surveys and was shocked to have won it.
I was pleasantly surprised in the improvement of the sound. Nice and punchy.
I've already narrowed it down to my go to amp.Either the MoMark head,or the TA 501 head running through the 108CL Cab which has a very deep bottomy sound without sounding muffled. I also have recabinet 3 and will try Mark 2 with that also later. I'm impressed. They didn't just add amps, cabs and effects, they made the whole thing sound better to my ears. Nice deep bass like I like. Very Happy

until the Mark Studio 1 I always recorded my bass thru DI without any amp stimulator etc ( I have amplitube ampex but never liked it). I liked markt 1 a lot, but this mark studio 2 is really really great. I too upgraded...... and my biggest problem with overloud is their preset browsing and they have improved that significantly, so I too am a very happy mark studio 2 user.

I'm interested in this, the price looks good. I have more trouble getting a good bass sound than anything else.

Thank you everyone for posting your feedback! I might have to upgrade in that case. I also got one of those $40 discounts and did the same thing IIRC. Mark 1 was pretty decent... glad to hear that Mark 2 is even better!

Surprised

Though it's the WORST demo system ever ( noise cut out AND the hiss ) it really sounds nice. Will look forward to trying some mixing later (w/o the pledge HiHi )

High cpu use though. 2% ish here which is allot in reaper on my system so those of you with older computers could really bottle neck I reckon.

That's the one of the nice things about Overloud products in general, which is that cpu usage is usually very low.

Just re-amped a session using the new MoMark head - I am very impressed with the definition, note clarity and dynamics - an excellent addition to the Mark Studio lineup!

I have Ultimate 8 Komplete that included Guitar Rig. How would you say the Overloud bass compares to the Bass amps in Guitar Rig?

I have GR but imo, there no comparison. I would never used the GR bass amps in my recordings. If the software doesn't focus on it it probably doesn't excel in it like Overlouds bass amps or Ampeg SVX as they're dedicated specifically for that.

yes, I don't think there is any comparison between the GR bass amp (I think there is only one) and the MS2.

I don't have a definitive answer this early in the game but so far, MS makes me wanna play bass through my computer where all the other sims (including GR) make me want to quit Laughing

I've had a miserable time with bass guitar in the computer arena......this looks promising. I have a really hard time reading the controls though.

NOTE: There are a ton of things to keep in mind with this. It's VERY sensitive and little goes a long way. The VLE and VPF are key on the amps it's available on. I like the two first cabs best so far (the 15's) and DON'T care for a couple of the cabs yet. The "ultra" makes a significant diff but it's possible you'll be pushing things too hard with it at times.
