Good one.
But Sampletank could be free, and I'd still think twice.

You might want to check out AppShopper, either the app available through the iTunes AppStore or the the web site http://appshopper.com/.
You can set up a wishlist and get a notification whenever there is a price change or an update (I think only email now, with push soon to come). Looks quite handy.
Edit: It seems push is already in place. The app is free, but keeps shoving ads in your face. If you find that too annoying, you can lose the ads for 99 cents. (It was the first thing I did.)
Cheers,
Thrahast

Dig in, it's the deepest on iOS... and an update is on the way that adds even more, including Virtual MIDI....~Pd~ wrote:I picked up Beatmaker - it's nice, definitely worth the ten bucks.

The Pro Upgrade for Alchemy is currently 25% off ($14.99).
Cheers

Cool AFAIK Thats the first all round music sequencer app to support Virtual MIDI - which is cool as Alchemy supports that with the Pro Upgrade. All we need to do is make it possible to route the audio back from Apps like Alchemy back into the sequencer and it will be rather like plugins. Of course you'll have to freeze the audio more than you would on a desktop cos of the much reduced CPU power on iOS devices, but I think this approach will be totally workable. I hope that this is the future for iOS Synth Apps / Sequencer Apps integration! If there's any iOS sequencer manufacturers who want to propose how we could support this in Alchemy, do drop us an email to support@camelaudio.com and we'll be interested to chat about it with you.Dig in, it's the deepest on iOS... and an update is on the way that adds even more, including Virtual MIDI....

So far I'm blown away. It is deep indeed, far more than I expected. Very quick to learn too - everything is fairly obvious - the only thing that vexed me at first was how to turn off record quantize, and after some poking around I found it in the recording options (duh).Dewaine wrote:Dig in, it's the deepest on iOS... and an update is on the way that adds even more, including Virtual MIDI....~Pd~ wrote:I picked up Beatmaker - it's nice, definitely worth the ten bucks.
Why couldn't iMaschine have been this good? Oh yeah, right - they still want to sell Maschine.

Boy this is all new and evolving stuff! I actually have been looking at the Open Music App Collaboration Manifesto (OMACM) that proposes workable comprensive guidelines to interconnect iOS music apps. The link above links to the doc and to Google discussion group on the subject.Ben [Camel Audio] wrote:The Pro Upgrade for Alchemy is currently 25% off ($14.99).

We should really open a new discussion about this!
