YAY!! yet another free plug i get for mercury. Already since i bought it (with still 8 months wup remaining) i have had element, redd,IR live, manny marequin and now this added. you can't deny that if i HAD paid WUP for $220 that all this wouldn't be worth it. Amazing.
Now waves please release a killer algo reverb so i can sell EVERYTHING else no seriously, how nice would it be to only have 4 or 5 manufacturers in our plugin drop down lists? ---- Please call me Theo. |

Well i got to say, i am more than surprised the discussion stopped on this almost immediately.
it is the best graphic EQ i have ever used in my entire life, whether hardware or plugin, and i am not being a dram queen or over exaggerating. it is *that* good. it is graphic EQ done RIGHT... FInally! Draw or drag modes, link or unlicked left and right, spectrum analyser with tons of options, sidechain input (i am stilll learning all this stuff), really nice frequency choices, looks gorgeous, separate left and right output gain / trim Separate left and right low p[ass/high pass/parametric EQ band. These are totally different from the 30 band graphic. This can be used for serious EQ tasks. Furthermore it even has a graph display which i know is not necessary but unique for a graphic EQ. 9.0/10 if it had a mid/side mode, as it's just BEGGING and dying for it, i mean this was made for it with the way the gui is laid out, and i am sure waves will listen as customers will want this, it will be an easy 10/10! ---- Please call me Theo. |

If two digital eqs at the same Q, F and dB values don't null cancel, one of them is defective. |

Standing three meters back from a graphic EQ, you can get an immediate visual sense of the curve. This is one reason they are popular in FOH rigs. |

it's just easier for quick adjustments.. i've always liked the idea of set frequencies and the choices here are good, similar to what i use.
The key with fixed frequency eq's is to learn them inside out so you know exactly how every frequency boosts and cuts. Once you have done that, a graphic eq is a tool to get super fast results, if you know that it would be suitable (by knowing what each frequency does) for the job you are doing. Furthermore, this has a fully parametric band as i said, which can interact with the graphic eqs to shape the curve. I have never seen this before on a GEQ, it's a first. There's also high and loss pass filters. Getting this and Manny's collection has been amazing this year. All wave need to do is release a really good algorithmic reverb, a good set of modulation plugins (the flanger is already good but they need a phaser and a chorus, i can't believe there is no traditional chorus!) and a better limiter, as well as a few other bits and bobs (i had them in my head before but forgot) and mercury would cover absolutely everything. I would love to see in my plug in folder just 3 or 4 devs.. Waves, Softube, ERS and Plug in Alliance. Oh and Sugar bytes. Ok, 5. ---- Please call me Theo. |

Oh thanks Lenticular! Cheers By the way if anyone is wondering if this is worth $99.. HELL YES.. i am very fair when i judge waves.. i can rip them apart on their crap stuff and praise on the good. I am honest, not a fan boy, but i do overall like them more than not I will admit. So i am honestly giving you guys my true opinion. It really is a terrific product. All there newer stuff really is. They think about ergonomics, quality, and results. Cheers ps give it a demo.. what have you got to lose? ---- Please call me Theo. |

There is no way I'd ever pay $99 for a software graphic equalizer, regardless of how many bells & whistles it had. IMO GEQs have just one reason for being: quick 'n dirty (and panic) adjustments to PA systems in a live setting. Fixed bands make them almost completely useless in a studio environment. |

Fixed bands make them useless? are you joking? i guess all the analog eq's with fixed bands are useless too. No offence, but you are wrong. and maybe give it a try. It;s a $200 plugin IMO, not a $99 one. The price is ridiculously cheap. ---- Please call me Theo. |
