I'd like to be able to switch between arp sequences of different tempos and patterns but can't really figure out if you're able to do that or not. It's really easy to alter filter cutoff, amp, etc, etc with different sequencers at different speeds, but when it comes to arppegiator note on and off values it's more of a mystery... Thanks for any help! |

There is no "easy" way to do this, but it is possible by using a performance control + mod maps in combination with multiple arp patterns. Here's a preset demonstrating the technique:
Tri Speed Arp Make sure the file extension is ".acp" and place the file in the following folder: Alchemy/Presets/User/Arpeggiated Load it up, play a chord and adjust Perform Control 7 - the speed of the arpeggiator will change as you increase or decrease the amount of P7. Go to the Arp section and click on the Amp control, you will see three different arps in the mod matrix. Although each Arp is using the same global clock speed, the pattern of each Arp has been changed so the apparent speed of the Arp changes. The depth of each Arp is modulated by Perform Control 7 via three different mod-maps split in to thirds, which restricts the range of modulation from the three mod matrix slots. See the following tutorials by IIRs for more details about how to use mod maps in this way: Performance Controls Tutorial Part 1 Performance Controls Tutorial Part 2 Peace, Andy. |

hi shane,
you cant directly modulate steps in an arp sequence, but you can set up a perform knob to switch between different arp patterns using modmaps. first, set up your different arp sequences - the mod rack allows 5 per knob. zero all the depths, then assign all the depth knobs to the same perform controller. you need to then assign a different modmap to each - if eg you want the perform knob to switch between 4 different arp patterns, you need to create a set of 4 modmaps each with a different quarter activated its a bit difficult to explain in words, but here is an example preset you can disect: http://www.biolabsaudio.com/stuff/Arp Switch.acp and here are some sets of modmap switch library presets - just add them to Alchemy/Libraries/Modmaps http://www.biolabsaudio.com/stuff/biolabs-Switches.zip hope this helps, col edit - andy beat me to it ---- [ Camel Audio Alchemy ] [ ucn netlabel ] "Its my firm belief that its a mistake to hold firm beliefs" Last edited by biomechanoid on Fri Apr 08, 2011 2:23 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Seem like the Demo File is no longer available (http://www.biolabsaudio.com/stuff/Arp).. Are there anymore files I can learn from? |

Replace the space in the URL with "%20" and it works OK. Right click / save as this link:
